How to Shop Quilts
Festival Quilts specializes in quilts to which we’ll now turn our attention. The following is information and answers to the questions so many of our customers ask in our mobile stores.
Quilts are designed for beauty and comfort. Beauty because they’re the centerpiece of your serene bedroom. Comfort because their material construction allows your body heat to slowly rise up through the quilt keeping the chill off you while eliminating the overheating that comes with polyester comforters. People are often surprised by the light weight when sleeping under a true quilt for the first time. All quilts sold here are machine stitched for durability, price efficiency, and of course, their beautiful aesthetic.
Quilts are cut to cover the sides of the mattress - not the boxspring, not the bed frame. All quilts sold at Festival Quilts are oversized and will not fall short of their intended goal which is covering the mattress sides. There is an exception, though. Recently, some textile companies have been constructing super king quilts, and more rarely super queen quilts, that are meant to nearly reach the floor. Some call them bedspread quilts or quilted bedspreads, in our store we call them super kings or super queens.
Quilts are sold in 3-piece sets, which include the quilt and two matching pillow shams, Twins come with one sham. Some companies only make standard (or queen) sized shams, therefore, their king-sized quilts come with standard (or queen) sized shams. Make sure to always check the listed sham sizes so you know exactly what you’re getting in a set.
California King mattresses use the same oversized king quilt as do eastern king mattresses. The quilts sold here at Festival Quilts fit both sizes perfectly.
Finally, you may have a Full, aka Standard, aka Double mattress. No companies we’re aware of make a full-sized quilt anymore. All queen quilts are marketed and sold as Full/Queen quilt sets, meaning they can be used on either a full or queen mattress.
